CHEMISTRY HYDROCARBON NOTES [RESONANCE]
A compound made up of carbon and hydrogen is called hydrocarbon.. There are sometimes double or triple bonds formed between two carbon atoms or even rings two.
Saturated hydrocarbons have only single bonds between carbon and hydrogen. which are attached in such a way to complete carbons and hydrogen valency.
Unsaturated hydrocarbons have double and/or triple bonds between some of the carbon atoms.
Aliphatic Hydrocarbons
Aliphatic hydrocarbons are compounds of hydrogen and carbon that do not contain benzene rings. Aliphatic hydrocarbons are flammable. There are several types of aliphatic hydrocarbons: alkanes, alkenes, alkynes and alkenynes.
Cycloalkanes are a type of alkane that contain a carbon ring but not a benzene ring. These molecules still have only single bonds ..
